Specialty Baking: Chocolate Quinoa Cupcakes

I'm back, with more gluten-free baking! My gluten-intolerant aunt was visiting again, so I decided to make some more cupcakes that she could enjoy. This recipe is so tasty, everyone in the family loved it. You would never guess that it doesn't have any flour at all!

Christmas Cupcakes + Lolita Christmas Party

I made cupcakes for the music department Christmas party today--white chocolate cake base with peppermint white chocolate cream cheese frosting. And last weekend, I went to a big Christmas Lolita meetup at Paris in a Cup, which was a lot of fun!

And the Winner for Most Matching Accessories...

In the previous post, I talked about how I made this jumperskirt more wearable. Well, here it is, coordinated for a chilly day! I always have fun with this outfit, because I have the most music-themed accessories.

Project Revamp: Music Note Jumperskirt

I recently decided that some of my older handmade items needed an update. When I first made them, I had a good grasp of the Lolita aesthetic, but I don't think I really understood what sort of lace or ribbon to use. After examining my brand pieces, I figured out what I wanted to do to update these projects.

Review: Pacific Media Expo 2010

Pacific Media Expo can be considered one of the largest Lolita events in Southern California, though the convention itself is shared with with the anime and Japanese music fandoms as well. I attended Friday and Saturday.

Poupee Girl: Gloomy Edition

I realized that I have yet to post about PoupeeGirl, and the new release of Gloomy Bear items has me very excited. The amount of detail they put into this virtual clothing just amazes me--I wish there were real dresses like these, because I would totally buy them!

Pacific Media Expo Outfits

This weekend was one of the big Lolita events of the year--Pacific Media Expo! So many amazingly dressed ladies wandering around one convention center. I'll be posting a review of the event later, with some more pictures. For now, here are my coordinates for Saturday and Sunday.

Specialty Baking: Quinoa Cupcakes with Raspberry & Lemon Frosting

My aunt Jeannine, who is visiting from Florida this week, is on a gluten-free diet, so everyone in the house has been figuring out gluten-free foods and desserts for while she's here. I took it upon myself to come up with a gluten-free cupcake, so that she wouldn't have to miss out on tasty baked goods.

Berry Pies in Black and White

Today, I wore Lolita again for the first time since I got back from Japan. We went to Seattle today, to shop at Pike Place Market and Uwajimaya market. I decided to go for a slightly more casual look with a hoodie cutsew and understated accessories.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Raspberry Whipped Cream Frosting

Hello there! Today, I decided to break in my new apron from my fiancee and bake some cupcakes! I went for a basic chocolate cupcake base with a whipped cream frosting with raspberry puree mixed in. I used a simple chocolate cake recipe from the Cupcake Project, with chocolate chips for some extra chocolate-y goodness. The proportions for the frosting were also from Cupcake Project, a modified version of the strawberry whipped cream frosting.

Opening Credits ♥

So why am I just now starting a fashion blog? I mean, I have a blog. That is, I have a LiveJournal account that I never use. I never post, I never do anything except go on EGL with it. But then, I thought, this is all about a change of image. My old LiveJournal is full of my highschool ridiculousness, and it was definitely more of a journal, not a blog with a purpose. It has a mall-Goth color scheme, for goodness sake (though I don't have the heart to change it). This will be new, fresh, exciting, and--well, something. I swear I'll put it to good use.

The eventual goal of this blog will be personal outfit snaps, recent buys, good deals, and if my friends let me, meetup outfit snaps. The primary fashion focus will be Lolita fashion, but I may throw something else in from time to time. I will also be including my cupcake adventures, with photos, links to recipes, and any new decorating or baking items I get my grubby little hands on.

So, there you have it. Lolita and baking, two of my favorite things. Enjoy!
